France is internationally known for its vineyards as well as its according culture. Everyone is able to find a wine suiting his taste, for example with red wine from the Bordeaux region, Champagne from the Champagne region or white wine from the Loire Valley. The Valley has a long history of winemaking dating back to the 1st century. The Loire Valley vineyard extends over almost 1000 kilometers, following the Loire from its source to its estuary: from the Massif Central to Nantes. For the greatest visual pleasure, the Loire vineyards rub shoulders with the many castles of the area.
The Valley with its diverse vineyards is listed as UNESCO World Heritage. Visitors can follow the Loire Valley Wine Route in order to discover this location. This Route of a length of about 800 kilometers can be travelled by foot, by electric cargo tricycles, by car as well as by boat on the river itself. Along the Route one will find cities, castles, wineries, wine cellars as well as opportunities to meet with the wine producers and spend a night in the vineyard itself. Even though the Loire Valley vineyard is known for its white wine production, red and rosé wine as well as sparkling wine can be found too.
